The Brainerd Jaycees have announced this year’s Distinguished Service Award honorees. These outstanding citizens will be honored at the Distinguished Service Awards at 7 p.m. Thursday, at Timbermist in Brainerd. Social hour starts at 6 p.m.
The following honorees will be recognized:
Outstanding Educator: James “Jim” Hunt.
Outstanding Child Care Provider: Tammy Praught.
Outstanding Firefighter: Daryl Rubbelke.
Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer: Matt Maier of the Baxter Police Department
Outstanding Senior Volunteers: Brenda Johnson, and Les Franz.
Outstanding Youth Volunteer: Abby Thelen.
Outstanding Citizen: Bill Musel.
Outstanding Young Citizen: Mike Schultz.
The fall menu for the banquet includes mock short ribs, roasted red and yukon potatoes, squash, and baked sweet apples for dessert.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at Community Action, 213 S.
