Three Brainerd High School graduates, representing the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, will join the Brainerd High School Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame on Oct. 4. The graduates are Connie Marshall-Grittner (1964), Sheila Wasnie Haverkamp (1981) and William Potvin (1972).
Sponsored by the Brainerd Public Schools Foundation, Brainerd Rotary Club and the Brainerd Dispatch, the hall of fame was established in 1999 to honor graduates of Brainerd High School for their distinguished achievement and careers. Since that time 47 individuals have been inducted into the hall of fame.
The inductees include former Minnesota Gov. C. Elmer Anderson (1928), Bataan veteran Hortense McKay (1927), U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Bruce Carlson (1967) and Broadway star Linda Eder (1979).
The Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame Banquet will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Brainerd Hotel and Conference Center at 2115 S. Sixth St. Dinner is at 6 p.m.
Tickets for the banquet are $25 each and will be available at the school superintendent’s office (Room 206) in the Washington Educational Services Building at 804 Oak St.
