Author Cathy Wurzer to speak
The Center for Lifelong Learning at Central Lakes College will kick off the fall with a special event featuring Minnesota Public Radio icon and author Cathy Wurzer Sept. 12 at Central Lakes College Brainerd Campus. From 5-6 p.m., join us for a reception and book signing. Then, Wurzer begins her program at 6:30 p.m. in the Chalberg Theatre.
Wurzer is the host of Morning Edition for MPR News. She is also the co-host of “Almanac,” a weekly public affairs program produced by Twin Cities Public Television for Minnesota’s statewide public television network. Wurzer has won four Emmy Awards for her work on “Almanac.” Prior to her return to radio, she was an anchor and reporter for WCCO-TV, the CBS affiliate in Minneapolis. She has also been a talk show host for WCCO-AM radio, a producer for KMSP-TV, and political reporter for KSTP-AM radio.
During this special event, Wurzer will speak about her book “Tales of the Road: Highway 61,” the iconic highway stretching along Minnesota’s North Shore. Photojournalist Denny Behr will also be on hand to share photos from the road.
Cost to attend is free for CLL members. Cost for non-members is $10 for the reception catered by Prairie Bay, book signing and program; and $6 for the program alone.
