■ Connections High School
now enrolling students
Connections High School will start offering classes in September in Staples. CHS will begin operating as a Staples-Motley School District site-governed school within the Staples-Motley High School building.
Students in grades 9-12 may now choose to be a student of either Staples-Motley High School or CHS. While these will operate as separate schools, all ISD 2170 high school students will have the opportunity to take various elective classes offered at SMHS and CHS.
CHS is a Career and Technical Education high school and will provide students with a project-based learning environment. Student projects can be designed to earn credits toward a two or four year degree and/or a certificate in a technical field.
Five career clusters will be offered to students: Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources; Engineering, Manufacturing and Technology; Health Science and Technology; Business, Management and Administration; and Human Services.
CHS students will need to have met all of the state education standards and have passed the state assessment tests to graduate. Each career cluster has been set up to meet the graduation standards.
