The 66-year-old Minneapolis man, who was seriously injured in Saturday’s crash on Highway 169 and Aitkin County Road 3, was upgraded from serious to fair condition Wednesday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
The wife of the man, Edward Cirkl Jr., Janell Cirkl, 65, who was a passenger, continued to be in fair condition at North Memorial.
Roger Langenbau, 74, Pequot Lakes, was killed in the crash. A passenger in his vehicle, Jerry Swenson, 69, Pequot Lakes, was injured and was in satisfactory condition Wednesday at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported Langenbau ran the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 169 and was killed when his vehicle was hit broadside.
