is St. Urho’s Day Grasshopper Hop
CROSSLAKE — The St. Urho’s Day Grasshopper Hop will be held on Saturday in Crosslake.
Join the Crosslake pubs for a day of “test your skill” events at each location. St. Urho, Finlanders’ answer to St. Patrick, helped drive the grasshoppers out of Finland. Participating businesses include Moonlite Bay Family Restaurant & Bar, Maucieri’s, Cedar Chest, Manhattan’s at Manhattan Beach Lodge, Ox Lake Tavern, Riverside Inn, Andy’s Bar, Restaurant & Liquor, Zorbaz Crozz Lake and The Wharf.
Prizes will be awarded and St. Urho’s-themed attire (green and purple) is recommended. You must be 21 years or older to participate in this event, and there is a $10 transportation fee per person.

Raffle tickets are still available throughout the community, including at the Chamber office in Crosslake. Receive a free 2013 Crosslake St. Patrick’s Day blinkie button with each $5 raffle ticket. Wear the blinkie button to cash in on discounts and deals throughout Crosslake. Raffle prize winners will be announced March 17 during the St. Patrick’s Day Raffle Party at Manhattan’s hosted by Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Crosslake Clinic and Manhattan’s at Manhattan Beach Lodge.
The main attraction of the month-long celebration, hosted by the Brainerd Lakes Chamber, is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, in Crosslake. The parade sponsor, Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Crosslake Clinic, begins in Crosslake’s Town Square and winds its way to Crow Wing County Road 3 before heading north on Route 66. HACKENSACK — Hackensack Legion Post 202 will conduct a traditional St. Patrick’s Day Corn Beef and Cabbage dinner from 3 to 8 p.m. March 17, from at the American Legion post.

fundraiser for Faith in Action
HACKENSACK — A spaghetti dinner fundraiser for Faith in Action for Cass County will be held 4:30 to 7 p.m., on March 19 at Lucette’s Pizzeria and Pub in Hackensack.
A meal of spaghetti, caesar salad, breadsticks, beverage and dessert will be served for a donation at the door. Musician John Puleo will entertain with guitar music.
