Head-on crash results in minor injuries
DEERWOOD — A head-on collision on icy roads Saturday morning near Deerwood left two with minor injuries, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
The crash was reported at 8:56 a.m. Saturday on Highway 210, two miles east of Deerwood.
Angela Fritz, 29, Aitkin, was driving a Dodge Ram pickup west on Highway 210. The state patrol reported Fritz lost control on the icy road and crossed the center line.
Gerald Stark, 65, Wrenchall, was driving a Ford Fiesta east on the highway. The two hit head-on. Stark suffered a minor injury and was taken to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. Stark’s passenger, Jesse McMillen, 25, Cloquet, also suffered a minor injury and was transported to the hospital in Crosby. Fritz was not reported injured. All involved were wearing seat belts.
The Deerwood Police Department, Deerwood Fire Department, Crosby Police Department and Crosby Ambulance assisted at the scene.
