The Cass County Republicans held their annual Basic Political Operating Unit (BPOU) convention Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Hackensack Community Center.
The convention attended by delegates and alternates elected at the 2012 caucuses.
Schultz, deputy chair Jan Skjolsvik, vice chair Mark Skjolsvik and treasurer Paul Ritter were all re-elected for another two-year term. Kay Johnson was elected as secretary to replace Nancy Evans, who was resigning.
Schultz and Ritter were also elected State Central delegates, and Kevin Castiglione, Jan Skjolsvik, Mary Stevens, Candace Ihrke, Bob Alley and Ted Seep were elected as alternates.
Speakers addressing the convention were Republican State Deputy Chair Kelly Fenton and candidate for state chair Keith Downey.
District 9 state Sen. Paul Gazelka also addressed the convention and fielded questions. House District 9A Rep. Mark Anderson was represented by his wife, Barb, and campaign manager, Bill Dian.
Delegate Greg Ravenhorst presented resolutions of commendation for the outstanding service by former House Rep. Larry Howes, state Sen. John Carlson and U.S. Congressman Chip Cravaack. The resolutions were unanimously passed by the delegation present.
