WAYZATA, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say two people have been rescued after a car broke through the ice on Lake Minnetonka.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Department received a call that a car with two occupants had broken through the ice and was underwater Saturday afternoon. An airboat and divers were sent to Gray's Bay.
KARE-TV (http://kare11.tv/Wmipqb ) reports CPR was performed at the scene and that at least one of the victims was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter.
It's not the first time this year a vehicle has broken through the ice on Lake Minnetonka. On Jan. 18, a vehicle with a Minnetrista couple and two children broke through the ice near Halsted Bay Bridge. An 8-month-old girl who was in the vehicle died a few days later.

Add commentWhy is it always some guy
driving on the ice and falling through? What is that behavior all about: the challenge of trying to do something forbidden and dangerous?
And then who dies? The women and children with them. And the guy lives on with the memory of the loss/losses he has caused.
Southie-You sexist(filtered word)
Why is it always some woman that cuts out in front of you on the highway? Doesn't that statement make sense? No. It's sexist and you shouldn't be posting your personal sexist remarks on here either. Clean it up or shut up.
Ah, the truth hurts.
Post a record of a woman driving and going through the ice on Minnetonka recently where someone died.
Flag it, then, mr m. Let the Dispatch decide.
Hmm southie
Off the top of my head I cant think of any but I am sure it has happened somewhere. How about we bring up soft water. Where woman drowned their children by driving into a lake on purpose & bath-tubs & bridges??
I think southie wouldn't want
to compare moms killing kids v/s dads because then someone would bring up abortion and she would lose.
charlie
You have your work cut out for you. The incident has to be recent, on Lake Minnetonka, someone had to die and the driver a woman.
I will just add that it is stupid to drive in that area on Lake Minnetonka no matter who you are. I wish the women had
enough brains or guts to get out of the vehicle with the children before.
So women, if you're riding in a vehicle and the guy wants
to go on the ice in a unsafe place where there is a warning, then get out of the vehicle and save yourself with your kids.
I hope you were not drinking.
Very sad ending.

From this I learned to roll your window down if you drive on ice. It could save your life.
Southie, Perhaps this person
Southie, Perhaps this person was a lib/dem where the gender lines have become very blurred. This causes ones mind to malfunction and reality becomes unattainable. As far as driving with your window open when you go on the ice, that would be like telling you to open your eyes and see what is really happening to this country.
Beware thin ice
This is a sad story. It could have been prevented.
What kind of idiot takes their 80+ year old Grandma
out for a ride on the lake in an unsafe zone?
Drinking?
Who knows.
Stupid, for sure.
Just a theory here
Sadie maybe he was in the will but with all the electronic's in these new vehicle's the rum-dum wasnt smart enough to figure out how to get out??
Sadie, I agree!
And OFB, remember you read it here, roll your windows down when you drive on ice.
