CAMP RIPLEY — A 34-year-old Little Falls man was seriously injured after being struck Sunday by a white van while walking east on Highway 115, about .2 miles east of the Camp Ripley Main Gate, reported the Minnesota State Patrol.
The white van left the scene after striking Zebulon Retka, who was discovered by acquaintances at approximately 2:10 a.m. Retka was taken home by his acquaintances. Several hours later he was transported by ambulance to St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls and then later transferred to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis with serious injuries.
The state patrol was notified and responded approximately at 9:30 a.m. A vehicle of interest is a white van which left the scene upon the arrival of the acquaintances. Anyone with information about this case please contact Sgt. Doug Brown at 218-316-3026.
