Lakewood foundation accepting grant applications
STAPLES — The Lakewood Health System Foundation is currently accepting grant applications for health-related activities benefitting nonprofit organizations.
Deadline for applications to be submitted is March 1.
The Lakewood Health System Foundation offers competitive grant dollars to surrounding communities in an effort to support needed health services, community education and preventative health programs and activities that contribute to the quality of life for the Lakewood Health System five-county service area including Todd, Wadena, Cass, Morrison and portions of Crow Wing counties.
Awarded grant funds will ultimately support the mission of the foundation which is “to provide the opportunity to preserve and enhance health and wellness for the communities we serve.”
The types of projects that fit the foundation’s mission include supporting health care events and wellness programs, as well as funding new technology and equipment.
Examples of past funded projects that were supported include the Crisis Line, Meals on Wheels, oxygen kits for the Staples Police, medical training for rescue staff, stability balls for the Staples Elementary School, spiritual care and grief resources for children, life saving equipment, etc.
