Brainerd School Board members unanimously approved the first revision to the 2013 budget during its regular Monday night meeting.

The board was presented with the preliminary budget during the June 11 meeting, where it passed. The preliminary budget reflected the preliminary fiscal year 2012 budget for the General Fund (Fund 1) to include revenues of $70,107,681 and expenses of $70,520,587, which produced a deficit spending position for Fiscal Year 2013 of $412,908.

In its first revision, the revenue reflected a decrease in revenues of approximately $475,000 and a decrease in expenses of approximately $125,000. The proposed revisions resulted in an increase to the preliminary budget operating deficit from approximately $412,000 to $763,000.
