Sgt. Scott Goddard, Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office water and boat patrol, drills a test hole on Hole-in-the-Day Bay Thursday to measure ice thickness for the upcoming Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza.

After two test holes were drilled, Sheriff Todd Dahl gave the go ahead for the annual tourney after finding 15.5 and 16 inches of ice.
