Crosby male arrested stealing Christmas presents
A 28-year-old male was arrested in Crosby Tuesday night after a report of a burglar stealing Christmas presents.
Crosby police responded to a residence at Second Street Northwest after a report of a burglary in progress at 7:05 p.m. Crosby Police Chief Kim Coughlin said at that point the suspect ran out the door and fled on foot with Christmas presents in hand.
Coughlin said Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department assisted Crosby Police in the search of the suspect. He was apprehended hiding near another home on Third Avenue Northwest and charged with first degree burglary, probation violation and fleeing. A warrant had been issued earlier for the suspect by Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department for second degree burglary violation, which was cleared upon his arrest.
Coughlin said some of the presents were recovered when the suspect dropped them while fleeing.
