HIBBING, Minn. (AP) — Authorities say a Minnesota trooper had to shoot and kill a wayward horse that couldn't be moved away from near a busy highway.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the animal was reported near Minnesota Highway 73 south of Hibbing on Sunday about 10:15 a.m. A Duluth News Tribune report (http://bit.ly/YJeAgy ) says a state trooper and several passers-by tried in vain to capture it and move it off the road.
Patrol spokesman Eric Roeske (ROS'-kee) says no one could identify to whom the horse belonged. He says it was in poor shape, suggesting it may have been loose for some time.
Efforts to capture it continued for more than two hours. After several close calls where vehicles nearly struck the horse, the trooper decided to shoot and kill it.

I was trying to be sensitive to our leftist friends (you know, the ones screeching about an assault rifle ban). They don't bother to explain exactly what they mean by 'assault' so I was kind of speculating.
Apparently, if a human is accosted with a rapid-firing gun, it becomes an assault. But that depends on how fast one can pull a trigger. What if a human is shot with a single-shot shotgun? Is that not considered an assault? Maybe it's just a misdemeanor, under their law.
Is it also an assault if a squirrel (or horse) is peppered with a Tommy gun? Can squirrels be assaulted? How about Nematodes? What if the projectiles all land at the same time, like with bird-shot? Is that an assault weapon too?
It's all so confusing.
They should have put him on unemployment for 96 weeks

When I read what the others had to read about this and also the story, I said to myslef, "here, here!".
It is about time the libs got it right and saw that we are all at risk. I hope this clears up the confusion for Trip Wire. The libs and they're agenda would have you believe we don't need weaponry. But this, here, is a good example.
You would never know whether a perp was carrying. That is the sham in the idea of banning clips since one never know's what kind of weaponry you need to respond to. Thus, the higher capacity and the need to stop the perp.
The horse here could be a danger. And you don't expect the horse to necessary be packing heat, obviously, since the horse is not allowed by law to carry weaponry of it's own. But then again, what if the horse was an outlaw? Based on the description this horse appeared to have rejected civilized society. So, whose to say if the horse had an alterior motive in it's mind? And even more, the horse may have been a "trojan horse" like the subterfudge of the greeks who sneaked Helen of troy into the city to continue her rain of terror in the greek wars. Who's to say but that this horse was the same deal?
This is why we must fight the lib, get that Pierce Morgan deported as a subvertuge, and keep are right to weaponry intact. I am tired of apologizing for protecting America the way are founding fathers told us we must behave, through the bill of rights, the holy scripture, and the norquist pledge!

But I am deadly serious about this, here. There is nothing more dangerous than an unruly horse resisting arrest. Putting that criminal critter down probably saved many lives.

Rumor is as a result, France is thinking of joining the liberal quest of ridding the world of assault type of weapons. They are offering a trade in of two never been used but dropped twice older bolt action rifles for every assault weapon turned in.
