My 6 gal cans for our Trout fishing trip to Canada.
$2.959....
$2.959 at Costco!
Scary
Do ya have to spend $55.00 first?? To become a member? I can buy alot of gas with 55 bucks at 4 cents a gallon.
@OFB
If you buy the $55 just for gas, then yep, you're right you'd have to buy 1300+ gallons of gas to make up the difference. Heck, if you shop at Fleet you can get the 4 cent coupons and make up the difference. However, if you buy the membership and take advantage of cheaper (almost everything grocery wise) then it doesn't take long. Milk that's 50 cents at a minimum cheaper, bread, bulk goods, etc. We more than make up our membership cost in the discounted prices on Costco's goods. It allows me to not shop Wal-Mart for low prices.
Milk...
Milk at Costco is about $1.00/gal cheaper. If you bought only one gallon of milk per week, it would (approximately) pay for the Standard Costco membership.
Gas is only a little cheaper at Costco, but I think it keeps the rest of the Brainerd Gasoline Cartel a bit more honest with their prices.
We have the Costco Executive Membership ($110.00), which pays 2% back on all purchases, so if we buy about $3000.00 per year, the 2% will pay the difference between the Standard and Executive memberships.
Costco pays it's employees well, and provides benefits, and is STILL profitable!!! If Costco can do it, so can walmart!!!!!
We REALLY like Costco! Can you tell?
Got Gas
Just paid $2.91 in St. Paul on Monday. SA on Larpenteur and White Bear Avenue. Somethings brewing. Be Careful.
Gas prices.....
Every time gas prices go up, we see a couple letters written to the BDD claiming some kind of conspiracy. Either the greedy oil companies are fixing prices or local stations are colluding to drive prices up.
Now that they're dropping, I assume we can thank the oil companies for deliberately foregoing massive profits. Maybe they're feeling especially festive this year. I say, let's write Dick Cheney a letter and thank him since he alone determines world oil prices.
On the other hand, maybe they should just pump free gas since the world is ending tomorrow.
The world is ending tomorrow.
"On the other hand, maybe they should just pump free gas since the world is ending tomorrow."
I don't expect them to "pump free gas", but it might be wise to not fill the tank....just in case! Coupla gallons ought to get everyone by until the end. ;-)
OMG Trip
I forgot about tomorrow. Well at least it's thirsty thursday!!!!! Thanks for the reminder.
taking it up the gas!
funny how the outer stations are still trying to reach deep into our pockets at 3.09 still. makes me wonder what is up with that. costco--- do they take coupons and double on tuesdays?
Nope
Nope, Costco does not take any coupons.
"Since the world is ending tomorrow"
Good! Then I don't have to deal with family and Christmas.

OFB~I would like to give you 2 thumbs up for your Grandchild idea! I have 3 little darlings. Send em home with candy canes :)
It's kind of sad that we get so excited about gas dropping
below $3! I remember my dad screaming about the high cost of gas when it went from .289 cents a gallon to .319 cents a gallon! My oh my, have times changed.
C'mon dudes
Not old enough to have grand-kids (in my mind, LOL).
But too old to be a belly dancer.
Now if the local stations
Now if the local stations would just gouging us for diesel. It is easy to find it 10 cents a gallon cheaper either south or west. Got it for$3.82 in Little Falls and yesterday for $3.78 in Dilworth
World ending...
Rumor is that Obama is using all his powers to delay it until January when the liberals take over... So fill up and enjoy before we all are sent to the stockyards in Camp Ripley.
OFB
"Trip cant remember if I told ya. 110 little toes due early May." You've lost me on that one. Might be the rum and eggnog though.
As far as grandchildren and candy, that's just plain cruel.........but I love it.
Also, I wouldn't too much about the world ending. Rumor has it, they have already printed the new calendars.
They better take
Muttley to Motley as I wouldn't want to be too nasty at the end.
Trip/Tricia/Pd/F&B

I don't think gas was ever
I don't think gas was ever .289 cents per gallon.
I remember
when gas was always at .29 cents a gal. Lowest I ever remembers seeing was .199 when there was a gas was going on in Brainerd.
28.9 cents or $0.289,
LLR. Don't give Muttley a chance to feel smart.
Stalker!!!
Stalker!!!
unbalanced,
next to you, I'm a genius. Tell us again how you shot that deer at 180 yds with a handgun? Or how you were carjacked, and pulled out your own gun and held the perp for the po po?
Fill er up
I know someone is particular about where the decimal point was placed. I looked up "Historical gas prices" for personal interest.
1919 - 0.25/gal. that is 25 cents a gal.
1920 - 0.30
1921 - 0.26
price seemed to be consistant untill the 1960's
