Vogt, Neshiem and Stang interested in PUC open seat

Posted: December 4, 2012 - 8:15pm

As Don Stang’s current term with the Brainerd Public Utilities Commission (PUC) nears its end, Stang, along with current and former city officials are looking to being appointed to the open seat.

Interim city administrator Theresa Goble confirmed that former Brainerd City Administrator Dan Vogt, Brainerd City Council member Lucy Nesheim — who did not seek re-election to her council seat, with her term ending this year — and Stang have all expressed interest in the open position with the commission.

Members of the PUC control, operate and manage public utilities operated by the city of Brainerd.

The commission is made up of five members plus a council liaison with each term lasting five years.
