chase
I bet the normal traffic on Co. Rd. 45 and the Dewing was honking at the cars involved in this chase to pull over so they could get around.
Why can they describe his race
when they can't if the bad guys aren't white?
heh heh
"running for the bunker now!!!!!!!!!!!
Police chases
Way too many people are hurt during police chases. When police KNOW who the person is and most likely WHERE they are heading, they should immediately abort apprehension when it turns dangerous. This has never made sense and Crow Wing County is famous for this cr*p. I have a scanner and more often than not, officers report who the person is and where he/she is heading, yet usually continue the chase and endanger everyone along the way. Jeez, just go to their home the next day and arrest them.
Fair and Balanced: they describe everybody's race because it's descriptive, just like brown hair or a dragon tattoo. Has nothing to do with racism.
Sorry gramps, you're wrong.
This paper and a lot of others refuse to put race in descriptions for criminals a lot when they aren't white. If you need some examples look back in the archives.
If they are white, they are
If they are white, they are described as " White males" if they are any other race they are called "Youths" or a "Group of" males committed the crime. This is done on purpose nationwide and it's not secluded to the Dispatch. The reason for it is to make the "White male" appear more dangerous. It's newspeak.
This is pretty simple to figure out just by looking at nation wide coverage of the Trayvon Martin case.
Trayvons 14 year old innocent looking pic was floated around the nation to pull at the heart strings of the population. In fact he was 17 with gold teeth, tattooed all over and living the thug life.
George Zimmerman was toted as a "White" male who committed the horrendous crime in EVERY newspaper for months. Yet, even a child can look at George Zimmermans picture and see that he was Hispanic. The papers must have received some grief about that so they changed their Modus operandi and started referring to Zimmerman as a "White/Hispanic" male. Making sure to still put the "white" in the beginning.
With this type of newspeak thinking. We can now refer to Obama as a "White/African"
