A car, a Schwans’ truck and a deer came together at the wrong time.
The Todd County Sheriff’s office reported a Schwans’ truck driver was injured when a car struck a deer and launched it into the next lane to hit the delivery truck.
The car was traveling west on County Road 16 at 5:53 p.m. Nov. 20 and struck a deer coming out of the ditch. The deer was sent into the eastbound path of the delivery truck, hitting the front driver’s side fender and windshield. The driver was slightly injured when glass got into his eyes. The car driver was not injured. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and couldn’t be driven from the scene.
Car strikes deer, leaves road and hits trees causing serious injury
A Cohasset couple traveling on Highway 200 Saturday were in a serious injury crash after their car struck a deer, left the road to strike trees.
The crash in Cass County was reported at 6:12 p.m. east of Highway 84. The driver, Gerald Wivoda, 60, was taken to a hospital in Grand Rapids. His condition was not documented, the state patrol reported. His passenger, Susan Wivoda, 58, was not reported injured. Both occupants were wearing seat belts. The Geo Tracker they were in was severely damaged.
