Minnesota Military Museum takes part in ‘Give to the Max Day’
CAMP RIPLEY — The Minnesota Military Museum is one of many nonprofit organizations throughout the state that will once again ask Minnesotans to display their record-breaking generosity by donating to their favorite charities at www.GiveMN.org during the fourth annual “Give to the Max Day” on Nov. 15.
The Minnesota Military Museum is the outreach effort of the Military Historical Society of Minnesota, a 501c3 organization. Located at Camp Ripley, the mission of the organization is to educate the public on the service of Minnesota’s veterans, preserve a record of their service through exhibits at the museum, and preserve the artifacts related to their service for future generations. It is the only military museum in the state representing and displaying exhibits from all branches of service, from frontier days to the present.
To become a member of the Military Historical Society of Minnesota and the Minnesota Military Museum, or to make a contribution, go to www.mnmilitarymuseum.org and click on the giveMN.org link.
The military museum encourages everyone interested in supporting veterans, and preserving veteran’s stories, to make a gift to the organization on “Give to the Max Day,” Nov. 15, 2012. Gifts to the Military Historical Society of Minnesota will be matched dollar for dollar up to $8,000 from a grant by the St. Paul Foundation.
“We really count on the generosity of our members and people interested in supporting veterans and their stories to keep the museum open and Give to the Max day is the perfect opportunity to do so” said Executive Director Jeff Thielen in a news release.
