The Morrison County Area Foundation presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to Bridget Britz, executive director of Horizon Health Inc. for the RSVP Summer Reads Program. The Summer Reads program involved children pre-K through fifth grade at libraries in Little Falls, Upsala, Pierz and Royalton. Summer Reads provided an eight-week program and offered stimulating educational activities to improve literacy, reduce the “summer slide” and foster the love of reading.
“The Summer Reads program sponsored by Horizon Health RSVP is there to help students who are at risk of academic failure due to poor reading skills, Robin Klosowski, president of the Morrison County Foundation, said. “Summer tutors improve reading skills and help Morrison County children improve their academics and self-confidence.”
