Every six seconds, a child dies from hunger-related diseases.
Kids Against Hunger meals are delivered to schools in Haiti by several Christian relief agencies and the U.S. military and because the kids are fed in school, enrollment is up nearly 50 percent. The kids are receiving some Christian training as well as the curriculum of Haiti and being fed daily.
Kids Against Hunger has prepared 57,000 meals. The goal at Kids Against Hunger Brainerd Lakes area is to help change the numbers by supplying food to countries of need and to help feed people in need right here in north central Minnesota.
Kids Against Hunger Brainerd Lakes area is a 100 percent volunteer organization. All of its food is purchased through donations and all of the food is packed by volunteers. There is no paid staff.
