Altercation at Walker High School leads to detention of 4 juveniles
Sheriff Tom Burch reports that on Wednesday the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a request for assistance from the Walker High School. Officers from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Walker Police Department, Leech Lake Tribal Police, Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, MN State Patrol and MN DNR responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found students involved in disruptive behavior resulting from an altercation at the school.
Four juveniles were taken into custody and transported to the Northwest Juvenile Center, pending formal charges. One officer was assaulted during the incident. No staff or students were injured. This incident remains under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. Law Enforcement is working with the school to ensure the safety of the students and faculty.
