Crash south of Motley injures two

MOTLEY — A two-vehicle rear-end crash south of Motley left two people injured Sunday, one seriously, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

The crash was reported at 11:27 a.m. Sunday a quarter mile south of Motley on Highway 10. Bernard Roden, 80, was driving with a passenger, his wife Judith Roden, 72. The Albertville residents were traveling east when the state patrol reported he blew through a red light and struck the cement base of an elevated sign post. The driver of the second vehicle, Kevin Benoit, 56, Sartell, was making a left-hand turn and was rear-ended. Benoit was not reported injured.

Bernard Roden was treated at Lakewood Health System in Staples and released. Judith Roden was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with a serious injury that was reported as non-life threatening.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s office assisted at the scene.
