Brainerd Jaycess win state awards
The Brainerd Jaycees won a number of awards at the Fall All-State Convention Sept. 21-23 at Cragun’s Resort. Chapter awards include Gold Chapter and placing fifth out of 80 in the Parade of Chapters.
Several members of the Board of Directors were honored for their efforts, including: Anna Yakle, Bronze Individual Development Vice President; Angie Hanske, Silver Secretary; Tony Fargo, Silver Community Development Vice President; Krystal Lhotka, Gold Public Relations Vice President; and Beth Lehner, Gold Membership Vice President.
Other members receiving honors were; Mary Zimmermann, honored as the Gold Director for her role as the chairperson for the 5th Annual Run for the Lakes Marathon; Bill Lowe, Ten Member Recruiter and Gold Jaycee. Of special distinction are those receiving Presidential Medallions – an honor bestowed by the Minnesota Jaycees State President and given to only 75 members annually. The Brainerd chapter has four honorees for this award – Mary Zimmermann, Bill Lowe, Tad Johnson and Cori Wrobel.
The Brainerd Jaycees are an organization for men and women ages 18-40 to develop leadership skills through community service. This chapter of over 190 members donates over 75,000 hours and $200,000 to the Brainerd-lakes community annually. More information can be found at www.brainerdjaycees.com.
