McGregor trail ride to raise funds for kids at St. Judes
MCGREGOR — Sandy River Stable is hosting a Saddle Up for St. Jude trail ride at 10 a.m. Saturday at the stable’s, groomed trails just west of McGregor. The event gives equestrians the opportunity to mount up and raise funds to help support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers.
The fundraising goal for this event is $3,713, which is the average cost of an outpatient treatment visit for a St. Jude’s patient.
The event will include a mid-lunch catered by McGregor Baking Company and after-ride chili supper catered by The Country House/Schoolhouse Café, with a bonfire, weather permitting. Participating riders collect donations and win official prizes from St. Jude’s
for their fund-raising efforts. Individuals may contribute by sponsoring a rider. Business contributions can be in form of rider sponsorships, door prize donations, or event support donations.
This is the first year that Sandy River Stable has held the Saddle Up for St. Jude trail ride.
