40 Days for Life campaign set for Walker
WALKER — From Sept. 26 through Nov. 4, residents of the Walker area are, for the fifth year, uniting with 315 other cities from coast to coast for a major simultaneous pro-life mobilization — the 40 Days for Life Campaign. Faithful believers will pray that these efforts will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in the area and around the world.
The campaign in Walker started with a gathering on Wednesday, in front of the Cass County Courthouse, after which believers are joining together with others from all denominations and churches within a 50-mile radius, for a peaceful prayer vigil inside the “little white tent”. There will be someone in the prayer tent 24 hours a day for those 40 days. All who believe that life in the womb is to be respected and protected will be welcome to join in. The campaign is made up of three key components: prayer and fasting; peaceful vigil; and community outreach.
The 2012 campaign marks the 40th year of legalized abortion in America with 55 million lives lost.
