Cass County deputy honored for his service
WALKER — Cass County deputy Bob Karbowski was recently honored at a ceremony at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office in Walker for his service to his country during the Korean War.
Major John “Buck” Buchanan, United States Air Force, presented Karbowski with a certificate of appreciation signed by Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta.
The citation reads as follows “MR2 Robert Holmes Karbowski, US Navy, In recognition of honorable service during the Korean War in defense of democracy and freedom. Through your selfless sacrifice, the tide of communism on the Korean Peninsula was halted and liberty triumphed over tyranny. The Department of Defense and the people of America and Korea are forever grateful.”
