Champion honors given at livestock show

Hundreds of 4-Hers participate

The 2012 Northeast Livestock Show was held the weekend of Sept. 15-16, Crow Wing County Fairgrounds.

About 270 4-H members participated from 17 northeastern counties of Minnesota. Many Crow Wing County 4-H members in livestock project areas took champion and reserve champion honors.

In Beef: Bridget Larson was awarded champion prospect calf; Isaac Britton, champion commercial cow calf; Alicia Moe, champion registered cow calf; Austin Moe, reserve champion registered beef heifer; and Peter Britton, reserve champion market beef.

In Goat Showmanship Megan Franzen was awarded reserve champion senior goat showmanship and Kylie Dano was awarded reserve champion dairy market goat.

Blue ribbon winners were:

■ Beef heifer — Stephanie Segler, Lane Schubert, Mikayla Rahto, David Larson, Samantha Larson, Jacob Holder and Cole Aspholm.

■ Beef showmanship — Stephanie Segler, Lane Schubert, Mikayla Rahto, David Larson, Samantha Larson, LizAnn Rahto, Raychel Raddatz, Austin Moe, David Larson, Samantha Larson, Jacob Holder and Cole Aspholm.

■ Cow/calf and showmanship winners — Dustin Sweet, Billy Segler, Casey Rahto, Maren Rahto, Athena Moe and Alicia Moe.

■ Prospect calf, and showmanship winners — Bridget Larson, Jacob Kraklau.

■ Market beef and showmanship winners — Zachary Kraklau and Peter Britton.

■ Market goat and showmanship winners — Levi Raddatz, Megan Franzen, Kylie Dano and Jacob.

■ Meat doe kid and showmanship — Garrett Sweet and Patrick Hofmann.

■ Rabbit and showmanship — Michelle Zugschwert, Dalton Schreier, Natalie Nash, Nicholas Nash, Lexi Larson, Matthew Lagaard, Lindsey Lagaard, Kayla Geike, Jennifer Franzen, Chelsea Fleischhacker, Katie Fillbrandt, Megan Fillbrandt, Conner Becker, Abby Schreier, Sawyer Liao, Sarah Fairbanks.
