Crow Wing County reminds voters of mail ballot procedures for Nov. 6 election

Voters in mail ballot precincts are reminded by the Crow Wing County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office of the following precincts located in Crow Wing County of mail ballot procedures in their precinct for statewide elections.

Mail ballot precincts in Crow Wing County are: cities of Cuyuna, Fort Ripley, Manhattan Beach, Riverton and Trommald; townships of Gail Lake, Little Pine, Platte Lake and Timothy; and the Unorganized Territory of Dean Lake. All other precincts vote at their designated polling place on Election Day.

For the Nov. 6, 2012, statewide general election, the ballots for the above noted mail ballot precincts will be mailed on Sept. 24, 2012.

Each voter registered by Oct. 16, 2012, for the statewide general election will be mailed a ballot by Oct. 19, 2012.

Ballots may be returned by mail (a postage prepaid return envelope is included when the ballots are mailed), or may be delivered in person or delivered by designated agent to the Crow Wing County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office, 326 Laurel St., Brainerd, Minn., 56401.

Ballots must be received no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted. Normal business hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to normal business hours, extended hours for mail ballot voting are: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 3, 2012; and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 6, 2012.

Eligible voters not pre-registered by the dates noted above, or pre-registered voters wishing to receive their ballot at a temporary address, may contact the Crow Wing County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office by phone, mail or in person for an absentee ballot application. Call 824-1045 for further information.

All mail ballots will be counted at the Crow Wing County Courthouse after 8 p.m. on Nov. 6.
