Carlson goes on to win district honors
Each year Brainerd Area Sertoma Club honors an outstanding member by naming them Sertoman of the Year.
This year Lowell Carlson of Hannekin Insurance was selected for the honor. Carlson has been an active member of the club for 20 years.
The leadership team recently returned from the Regional Convention held in Sioux City, Iowa, bearing another honor for Carlson who was also selected as District Sertoman of the Year.
Carlson serves on the board and continues to provide leadership on the flag committee ensuring that Sertoma can continue to fly the flags for patriotic occasions.
He has spent countless hours working in most of the projects of the club, including Pipe and Drape, Winter Wonderland, Mariucci Fiesta, Gossamer Ceiling and Ditch Picks.
One of Carlson’s favorite things to do is the hearing testing at Forestview Middle School.
His insurance industry experience has lead to the position of chair of the board of directors for Pioneer Lake Mutual Insurance Company.
His guidance and wisdom has mentored many young agents throughout his tenure in the profession, Sertoma reported.
Carlson is also involved with the Lutheran Church of the Cross and Heartland Animal Rescue Team.
