WALKER — A 50-year-old Outing man was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct in Cass County District Court.
Judge David Harrington committed Roger Lynn Knode to the Commissioner of Corrections immediately and ordered him to pay a $10,500 fine. Knode also will be on supervised program for 10 years and must register as a predatory offender.
The charges arose from an April complaint alleging sexual contact with a person under age 13.
Knode, who has been convicted of criminal sexual conduct on two previous occasions, also will be reviewed for civil commitment as a sexually dangerous or sexual psychopathic personality person.

5 years for a criminal who has demonstrated that they will re-offend? I hope that the civil commitment goes through. This person does not need to be free....ever.

5 years is definitely a very short sentence for someone who continues to re-offend. A judge has the choice to not accept a plea deal.I think the voters need to cast their vote in favor of a differnt district court judge. Judge Harrington seems to be very easy on crime. Especially crimes that effect our children.
