Sign up for a library card in September
Sign up for a library card in September at the Brainerd Public Library and help score a touchdown.
For every child 10 and under who signs up for a new card, the library’s quarterback will run a yard. The quarterback will start at the 25 yard line and will run its way to the end zone. If it scores a touchdown by the end of September, the library will host a movie and popcorn party. Besides the excitement of rushing the ball, kids also will receive a canvas book bag and a free book of their own.
As Brainerd lakes area students head back to school, the library wants to make sure that all children have the most important school supply, a library card.
Owning a library card provides students the resources they need to compete academically. Nationally, the average library user takes out more than seven books a year, but users turn to their libraries for more than books: To borrow DVDs, to learn new computer skills, to conduct job searches and to participate in the activities of local and community organizations.
Children are able to choose their own book and receive a canvas bag donated by an anonymous library supporter who is committed to helping children read. Supplies are limited.
There are more than 12,000 Brainerd Library card holders.
For more information on how to sign up for a library card, visit the library in person or visit the library online at www.krls.org.

Add commentIt says on their website, to get a library card, show an ID.
But what about all those disenfranchised people; the poor, elderly, students??
The lefties
don't want to talk about that. I also see the new clicker just passed $16 trillion . Sweet huh?
I want to talk about it...
its a free service paid for by tax payers, yet you need an id to get a book. That is so unfair...
LMAO so funny!
Well isn't that something!
"A library card is free to any Minnesota resident. Bring a valid Minnesota driver's license, a Minnesota I.D. card or a tribal card with a current address to any branch location and complete a card application form. The parent or guardian of a minor child (under 15 years of age) will need to sign the library card application."
Is it a constitutionally guaranteed right to
use a library? No.
Do patrons have a possibility of taking materials and keeping them forever? Yes.
How would you locate them without a valid address?
Theft is one of the biggest expenses libraries need to control.
Can an election be stolen? We shall see.
we already know elections can be attempted to be stolen
How many counties across this country had more people voting than legal voters in said county?
In fact, I know of one county in Ohio that had more votes than actual population of the county and guess what, it was overwhelmingly won by Obummer.
Yes, a voter ID law would prevent this...
When criminal behavior hurts the integrity of an event, something must be done to prevent said criminal behavior.
Funniest thing yet?
You need an ID to get into the Democratic Convention! ROFL! You can't make this stuff up!
I think I saw
something today where in Venezuala (Obama's Pals' dictatorship) where people got shot practicing to vote.
Do they have panthers down there too?
Haha
Whats really funny is how some try to compare private entities to government....
P.S. southie
you lost before you started to try this coverup. Go cry on snow's shoulder.
No need to steal elections
No need to steal elections any more with the cons forcing this country down the path of corporate fascism.
I called up the County Auditor and asked how I change my address
for voting purposes, and she said change your address on your new State ID or Drivers License, and that will be all you need. But what if I don't have one. Come to the Courthouse with your ID and fill out an application, she said. Am I the only one who doesn't see a pattern here?
I seen online
That the city of Blue Earth is going to put a thumb print pad at the city pool to make sure everybodys paid. Now just how hard is this voter ID stuff going to be??
snow and southie
just want this story to go away.
