Beattie’s next court date set

Risky Business owner Ronald William Beattie Jr. of Baxter, who was charged for the sale of synthetic cannabinoids, was scheduled to appear in Crow Wing District court last week, but his omnibus hearing was canceled.

Beattie’s next court appearance will be at 10:40 a.m. Sept. 18.

According to the criminal complaint, Beattie allegedly had 79 sale transactions Aug. 9 of “Mean Green” and other synthetic cannabinoids that he was selling out of his Brainerd store on Washington Street.

Court hearing set for Bundgaard

An omnibus hearing was set for 9 a.m. Sept. 26 for Mark Martin Bundgaard, 34, Breezy Point, who was arrested July 14 in Breezy Point for first-degree driving while impaired (DWI), which violated the conditions of his probation.

Bundgaard appeared last week in Crow Wing District Court.

Bundgaard served a year in jail for a criminal vehicular homicide following a crash in which his passenger, Kenneth Foster, died on May 18, 2005. Part of Bundgaard’s conditions of his probation include that he will not be allowed to purchase, possess or consume alcohol or enter any establishments that serve or sell alcohol during probation.

Next court date set in stabbing case

The 39-year-old St. Paul man accused of stabbing another man in a vehicle on Jan. 27, 2011, in Nisswa, will next appear in court on Dec. 17.

Jon Martin Johnson, charged with felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon in Crow Wing County District Court, is accused of stabbing Timothy Porter three times while the two were in a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 371 and Crow Wing County Road 13 in Nisswa.

Plea hearing set for Johnson

The 65-year-old Brainerd woman — who led half a dozen law enforcement officers on a high-speed chase March 30 after fleeing a domestic dispute where she rammed her estranged husband’s car — appeared in Crow Wing District Court last week.

A plea hearing was set for 9 a.m. Monday for Judith Mae Johnson — who was charged with felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, felony of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and two misdemeanor counts of domestic assault, with one domestic assault for committing the act to cause fear or immediate bodily harm or death on another and the second domestic assault for intentionally inflicting bodily harm on another.

Sentencing for woman who burglarized HART set

The 24-year-old Pillager woman charged with third-degree burglary that occurred at Heartland Animal Rescue Team (HART) in Baxter appeared last week in Crow Wing County District Court.

Sentencing was set for Samantha Jo Martin for 9 a.m. Oct. 24.

According to the criminal complaint, Martin admitted to going to HART; stealing the dog without paying the $600 in fees owed; letting out the other dogs; spray painting the building; causing damage to locks, law enforcement door and fences; and cutting the phone lines.
