Weekend fire calls run the gamut
Brainerd firefighters responded to several calls during the weekend.
A fire alarm at 6:18 p.m. Friday on the 400 block of East River Road turned out to be burnt chicken. There was a little smoke, but no damage.
Later Friday at 7:17 p.m., the fire department was called to a fire in a hollowed-out willow tree on the 2400 block of Pine Street, which was believed to have been set by someone.
Sunday, as firefighters were on the scene of a three-vehicle crash reported at 12:51 p.m. on Highway 25 south of Brainerd, they also received a call for assistance for a woman who had fallen on the 200 block of Southwest Fourth Street and responded to help.
