Erickson joins Edina Realty
BAXTER — Tad Erickson, a native of the Brainerd lakes area, joined Edina Realty in Baxter as a residential real estate sales associate.
Erickson has a bachelor of science degree in finance and marketing and has worked in the region on local land use and development issues. He is a Brainerd resident and owns rental property in Brainerd.

Interested in becoming a certified University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener?
If so, applications are currently being sought by the Crow Wing County Extension office in Brainerd.
The UMN Extension Master Gardener program is an educational program designed to train volunteers to help other people in their communities with issues relating to horticulture. The program was created in 1977 and is administrated by the University of Minnesota Extension.
To be a certified Master Gardener you should have an interest in gardening and a desire to share this interest with others. As part of the requirements for the first year, interns must pay for and complete the required 49-hour educational training (“Core Course”). This online training will be covering a different horticulture topic each week from January to May of 2013. In addition to the training, Interns must complete a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer work during their internship year.
To retain the certification, program members must complete each year a minimum of 25 hours of volunteer work and five hours of continuous education.

According to the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Home Buyer/Seller Satisfaction StudySM released yesterday, Keller Williams Realty Inc. ranks highest in customer satisfaction in both the homebuyer and home seller segments.
Keller Williams Realty Inc. achieved the highest scores in all measured factors across both segments, receiving the highest JDPower.com Power Circle Rating among its competitors overall.
The fifth annual J.D. Power and Associates study measures customer satisfaction with the largest national real estate companies within the home buyer and seller segments. Scores are determined by examining three factors of the home-buying experience: agent/salesperson; office; and variety of additional services.
Arb offers compost bins
The Northland Arboretum is offering one-piece injection molded compost bins for $25.
The bins have a 77.8 gallon capacity with a twist locking lid which is rodent resistent and made of 100 percent recycled materials. The bins have a 10-year warranty.
