ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota state lawmaker involved in a rest-stop sexual encounter with a 17-year-old boy says he won't run for re-election after all.
Rep. Kerry Gauthier (GAHTH'-ee-ehr) told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he made the decision on his own after multiple conversations with Democratic leaders who urged him to drop out. Gauthier had said earlier in the day that he would not drop out.
Gauthier also told AP an overdose of muscle relaxants he took last week was a suicide attempt.

That is how I like to see the MN DFL handle difficult situations...quickly and decisively.
Really?
Like they really had any other option but to take his
"Big Boy" pants away...Duh
Myeye, the were just returning the favor, since he took
away a 17 year old's "Big Boy" pants, and everything else. Hey, Mr. Gauthier, next time try sleeping pills because we all know what a crock "It was an attempt at suicide"

I heard a report that he was blaming his misbehavior on being
in the closet during his college years. That didn't make much sense to me unless he was trying to say he missed his opportunities for "love" with someone his own age back in college, so now he has to resort to the standard homosexual formula (old man/young boy) that has been popular since Plato's day.
Why is it that Sen Craig made major news for
indecent behavior, and Sen Koering made headline news for a dinner, and yet this guy gets a free pass and the Dems hardly say a word against him?????
Are you in fantasy land?
The DFL leadership worked to boot him out.
The GOP, after Craig's toe tapping, were mute.
And Koering ate dinner with a guy...is that now against the law?
Because craig's actions were unlawful, and Gauthier's were not!
Does anyone actually believe that? Like the lefties suddenly become legal-beagles when a conservative misbehaves.
I think I've heard it all, now.
