DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Authorities are looking into an incident at an interstate rest stop in Duluth that involves a state representative.
State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske (RAHS'-kee) says a witness approached a trooper at Thompson Hill rest area off Interstate 35 about 11 p.m. on July 22 and told the officer about some "suspicious activity." Roeske says the trooper had contact with Rep. Kerry Gauthier (goth-ee-AYR') and turned the matter over to Duluth police because it was a "non-traffic" incident.
Duluth police said in a statement the incident is still being actively investigated and released no further details. Gauthier, a Democrat, did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press seeking comment. But he earlier told the Duluth News Tribune (http://tinyurl.com/9xyjlj4 ) that the matter is private and he doesn't plan to discuss it.

dispatch, a story about a non story. Do you have anything else you want to not say?
Don't tell me
one of the anointed ones have more than a wide stance. Where are southie and snowda?
We need to know, the Duluth paper says
Look at the Duluth paper. The guy was on the council and
represents the people, they have the right to know.
The Duluth paper wants to know-- there is an investigation.
There were witnesses on the scene. Wow.
Keep us informed please Dispatch.
I want to know why it's not listed that he's DFL.
If it was GOP, the Dispatch would have had 3 pages on this story. What, no libs on this page??
Paragraph 3 Pudnut
It's not to late to sign up for a remedial class on reading strategies through A.E.C.
Here they come.....
to save the day!!!!!
The Mighty Mice are on the way!!
Same keyboard
boys?
Boy, that sure makes me feel better.
When's the wedding?
Good investigating. Of
Good investigating. Of course, most of us thought
it would be something like that.
We will see if it bothers the Duluth voters.
A private matter?
Apparently someone needs to explain to this Democratic politician that a public rest stop is "not private enough."
Beyond the public lewdness issue, I find it extra disturbing that he's out molesting young males who aren't even old enough to vote. He's got to be about what? Forty years older than the kid?
Big trouble now
Now it's on the Star Tribune site.
Move along, nothing here.
Thumbs down
Thumbs down
Actually I believe he could be charged with Statutory Rape
Consent may be at 17, but the way I understand it, there are certain legal ages of the other person, and I don't think that Kerry Gauthier falls into that category. Interesting that so much was made about Sen. Craig and yet the dems want to look over this.
Seriously, the kid was probably
in business. Get real.
They found each other on Craig's List.
See today's story...no charges filed.
Of course not
Not in one of the states where the Dems sanction such behavior and rejoice in their personal rights to do such things , even in public places. I hope they start meeting on southie's street corner.
Actually, I hope he resigns.
Jeff Anderson should run for his seat.
If he was GOP he'd be on some
If he was GOP he'd be on some child protection committee.
Instead he's
a respected and rejoiced member of the DFL community that you support fishhead. Sometimes............you.........
Agree southie
Oh come on now, fifty six and seventeen? This man should face the same punishment as a teacher having sex with a student and consider himself lucky his wardrobe options aren't white with black stripes or black with white stripes. His seat should go to the runner up T.C. or there could be a run off between her and Anderson. At any rate, this guy has serious issues and is unfit to be out among the public, let alone serving the public.
Anderson would have to move into his district.
Taryl doesn't mind moving when necessary.
It doesn't matter
if he's Republican, Democrat, gay, straight, purple or blue, this is disgusting. Nobody traveling north in our state should have to worry about pulling over at a rest stop and seeing two people engaging in any kind of sexual activity. Kids do crazy things and I think no matter what the "age of consent" is, 17 year old CHILDREN are still succeptable to manipulation by adult predators. That may be a bit strong since the kid did say he was 18, but then they should both be charged with public indecency or lewd conduct since we are considering them both adults making calculated and mature decisions. Why didn't that happen? Is it legal to get it on at rest stops? ROAD TRIP!
Another person
It's about what you would expect out of Duluth ('Dull - uth')There was another person walking down the street but that person is still being investigated. No further details are available at this time. Tune in tomorrow. Love to all - Steve
totally disgusting
I hope he is brought before the ethics board in the legislature.
