Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reported Friday the female suspect taken into custody involving the death of Mark Andrew Huesman, 27, Pine River, was released pending further investigation.
The woman, a 20-year-old Backus resident acquainted with the victim, remains a person of interest in connection with the case, the sheriff’s department reported.
Cass County authorities have identified a male suspect, who is currently in custody in another facility on unrelated charges.
Huesman’s remains were found in a shallow grave on the property of JB’s Welding and Repair in rural Pine River Tuesday. Huesman was reported missing Monday after he was last seen in the Pine River area a week earlier. Foul play is suspected in his death. Huesman’s body was taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting Cass County with the death investigation.

Add commentI wish that justice is served
I wish that justice is served and the family feels that the punishment fits the crime. Sending the family all my prayers and love, hope they can make it throught this. I pray the investigators find enough evidence to put the ppl who did this away for the rest of their lives.
Another suspect identified?
Identified to whom?

Will justice be served?
With the sentences going the way they have been, if convicted what will they get two years of the tax payers paying for them to eat and sleep in prison. We need to stop the madness, people don't fear the punishment any more! Things where different 40 years ago. We where taught to fear what could happen if you broke the law.
Sad but true
Sad but true.
Or fear for getting in trouble in school. Now they blame the teachers for kids getting bad grades. I would have much rather face the teacher than what I had to face at home for a bad grade.
If Mark was black and they beat him up
in Brainerd they'd get 8 years and 5 years in prison. I guess the Human Rights Commission is too busy to look at Pine River and the left wing commenters are absent. 'Cept for 1.
FnB - Mark was a Native
FnB - Mark was a Native American, #1, and 2, he wasn't beat up. He was murdered. Whether bias was considered / involved (I am going to say racial motivation WASN'T), the maximum sentence carried for homicide in the 1st degree here is life imprisonment.
I thought you were something of an okay person, albeit misguided, but what I've learned even more from this last post is that you're just a huge jerk. Shut up, please.
Naw, you shut up,please.
The last two sentences up here for killing someone were less than half of what those dummies got for beating Willie Navy up and one of those got out and is in trouble again. Maximum doesn't mean crud if it's not given.
By the way, when did you take over as eyolf's replacement as # One Moderator and Judge of Character?
Goodbye,
kitty
Notice that
I didn't call him names, please.
Peace
Hoping Mark's family can find peace and justice real soon.
(F&B... Eastwood or Campbell is out?)
No, not them two,
a person who killed someone was already out. A lot of people get short sentences for killing someone and those two got more time.
