Was it really worth it to print one crime on the police blotter? I find it hard to believe this is the only crime reported in the area in the past 24 hours. Might as well give this part of the paper up because no effort is being taken to correctly report the crimes which are taking place in the area! In addition I am a bit suspicious about why this one was the only one listed. Makes one pay more attention to the name huh? That stinks!!
What is the point...?
I agree with you, Debbie. I have seen the blotter reports degenerate over the last year into this garbage. What is so bad about Mr. Gottsch that he needs to be highlighted this way? Surely, there are more crimes being reported in Brainerd. It just seems like the staff at The Dispatch is being lazy. If they are not, then I suggest that they offer an explanation for the way the blotter has appeared over the last several months. Specifically, is it being redacted? If so, then why? If not, then how do you justify not having the information there? At the risk of sounding sarcastic, I ask this: Are you trying to save megabytes or something? I would be gracious for a response, Jennifer Stockinger. I don't mean to be rude, I just really want to know why the police blotter isn't informative anymore. It seemed like it was a helpful thing for Brainerd citizens to have.
WTP??
I could not agree more nexx!!!!! It USED to be interesting and often times quite funny. The folks that are working for the paper don't appear to be motivated to make the paper better. They seem to be doing the bare minimum with a great big yawn! So many businesses no longer care about the customers, BDD is no different. What a shame.
crime
If that is all the "crime" Brainerd area law enforcement has to report its time to lay a few of the boys (and girls) off.

Must have day off. I bet this gets yanked.
There is a boatload of crime
There is a boatload of crime to report, not just in Brd but all over America. It is called O'Bama cares. Sure he does. Barry has his hand in your pocket and is robbing us,US, blind. And how doyou suppose Eric Holdem is coming on the investigation of leaks from the OBama misadministration. You say you have no faith in either of these guys. Good thinking. Remember that in the voting booth. Love to all- Steve.
Really?
How does a newspaper column (or lack there of) become a political conversation? Strange if you ask me!

Try to understand this is one police blotter report over a weekend. We try to contact all area police departments but sometimes have mixed luck making contact with them on weekends.
That said, the Dispatch has a limited number of resources to use in reporting.
After looking at the numbers of readers who look at the Police Blotter it was decided we would try only reporting misdemeanor crimes and those calls that were more unusual in nature. This would hopefully free up some of our reporting resources for feature articles.
If you feel differently and would like more time spent on the police blotter reporting, please voice your concerns and send an email to readeropinion@brainerddispatch.com, voxpop@brainerddispatch.com or to keith.hansen@brainerddispatch.com and let us know you want more police blotter reporting.
A note: Police Blotters aren't supposed to be set to allow commenting. This one was not queued up properly in the crime section.

Thank you for your explanation. Oftentimes it is not all that easy to find on the website. If you want people to read it-don't make them search for it. And like I said, make it worth reading. It used to be. I doubt crimes in this area have decreased to this point. Although that would be great!
