BAXTER — More than six law enforcement agencies searched for a vehicle driven by a father who took his child Monday from a relative’s residence on Crow Wing County Road 10 in a non-custodial parental abduction, reported the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s office reported that around 12:42 p.m., the mother of a child reported that her ex-husband took their child from a relative’s residence. The mother reported to deputies that she has full custody of the child.
The county placed a state alert to area law enforcement agencies to be on the look-out for the vehicle. It was reported that the father and child, who were safe, were found in Baxter. Court documents confirmed that the father did have custody of the child and no arrests were made.
The Baxter and Brainerd police departments, Aitkin and Mille Lacs county sheriffs departments, Minnesota State Patrol and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension assisted in the search.
