Brent W. Rider was recently promoted to staff sergeant in the North Dakota Army National Guard. A native of Crosby, Rider is a member of the Guard’s 188th Army Band, playing trombone and guitar and serving as an announcer and music librarian with the unit. Rider lives and works in Fargo, N.D., where he is a full time team leader for the Guard’s Military Funeral Honors program.
Kristin L. Rajala, Brainerd, was promoted to the rank of colonel, Dental Corps, in the Minnesota Army National Guard in a recent ceremony at Camp Ripley, Little Falls, Minnesota. She is currently assigned as the Officer in Charge of the Dental Section within the Medical Detachment, Joint Force Headquarters, Minnesota Army National Guard. In her civilian career, Kristin works as a dentist for the State of Minnesota. She is married to Jerry B. Steinke, a local attorney.
Army National Guard Pvt. Danielle F. Talbot, daughter of Theresa and Al Cooper, Little Falls, and Ronald Talbot, Chanhassen, recently graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
Army National Guard Pvt. Stuart J. Sommers, son of Gary and Lois Sommers, Walker, recently graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
Navy Seaman Allison J. Tetrick, daughter of Shari J. and Kelly S. Tetrick, Aitkin, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
