Cooking and grass fires
Brainerd firefighters responded to a call at 4:32 p.m. Wednesday to Lakewood Evangelical Free Church, 6284 Fairview Road, Baxter, to a smoke smell. It was reported that smoke from cooking activated the smoke alarms.
Firefighters also were called at 5:28 p.m. Tuesday to a grass fire at Jaycees Skate Park, 1600 Rosewood St.
