Linking Clean Water and Land Use Decisions; An Interactive Workshop
Linking Clean Water and Land Use Decisions is an interactive workshop designed for local community leaders. It is an education and training program that builds the knowledge and skills of local decision makers including elected and appointed officials, and community leaders in the area of water and natural resource management. This workshop will discuss a variety of tools including planning, creating policies and implementing practices to protect and improve clean water resources.
Tailored to the issues and resources in our area, it will also enhance a dialogue between local leaders, residents, and water resource professionals about the value and challenges of clean water in our communities.
The workshop will be held 5:30 to 9 p.m. April 10 with a light meal served at 5 p.m. at the Nisswa Community Center, 25628 Main St., Nisswa (approximately three blocks east of the highway 371 stop light). This workshop is free and made possible through funding provided by the City of Lake Shore, Lake Margaret Stakeholders and Cass County Soil and Water Conservation District. Registration is required by April 5. To register go to: http://z.umn.edu/nemo or call Sue Crotty at 828-2275.
The NEMO education and outreach effort is being led by the University of Minnesota Extension.
