Carol Ann had read in the Brainerd Dispatch that the Lakes Area Senior Activity Center has bingo on Wednesday afternoons. She decided to stop in and check it out. Upon arriving at the center, they found out that Bingo was not the only activity that was happening at the center. People were playing Pegs and Jokers, Dominoes and someone was working on a puzzle.
The front desk receptionist told them that bingo is played in the Great Room. Carol Ann went in and was greeted by Eileen, who coordinates bingo for the center. Eileen explained that each bingo card costs 5 cents for each card you play. She was given a bingo program; which shows the games that would be played.
By 12:30 p.m. everyone was in their seats, ready and waiting to play bingo. Sixteen games were played that afternoon. A great time was had by all! While talking with other players following bingo, Carol Ann found out the center also sponsors a quilt bingo; instead of wining a dollar amount at the end of a game you could win a quilt of your choice! Carol Ann called her daughter, Emily, and told her about it because she loves quilts. Emily and a couple of her co-workers planned on coming with Carol Ann for a fun afternoon!
If you would like to join us for quilt bingo, it will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. April 22. Seating is limited, so I would suggest that you come early. It is open to the public. Cost is $7 for 16 games per card. Following bingo, a free lunch will be provided.
The Lakes Area Senior Activity Center is located at 803 Kingwood St., Brainerd. Come and join us, you may leave a winner with a beautiful quilt!
