The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will be offering a 55+ driver improvement course on the following days:
• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 12 (four hour refresher), Hallett Community Center, 470 Eighth St. N.E., Crosby.
• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 22 (four hour refresher), Aitkin Public Library, 110 First Ave. N.E., Aitkin.
• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 22 (four hour refresher), Crosslake Community Center/Community Ed., 14126 Daggett Pine Road, Crosslake.
The driver improvement course is open to the public; pre-registration is requested. A Minnesota Highway Safety & Research Center certified instructor teaches the class. The fee for the four hour refresher course is $20 and the eight hour course is $24.

Persons age 55 and older who complete the course qualify for a 10 percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years, according to Minnesota law. First time participants must complete the initial eight hours of training and a four hour refresher class every three years to maintain the 10 percent discount.

The most boring 4 or 8 hours you will ever spend. The idea of the class is fine but the 8 hour class could be taught in 2 or 3 hours and the 4 hour refresher course could be done in an hour.

Sit in your pjs with a beer and take it for about $12 through AAA or AARP!!! Best way ever!!!!!
