A head-on collision involving two vehicles resulted in the death of one driver and non-life threatening injuries to the second driver and his passenger Saturday night near Crosby.
The state patrol reported that about 10:49 p.m. Saturday Russell Fort, 67, was driving northbound on Highway 6, five miles north of Crosby, when his 1999 Chevy Silverado was hit head-on by a Subaru Outback in the southbound lane. Fort, a resident of Crosby, was taken to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) where he was pronounced dead. The state patrol said he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of collision.
The driver of the second vehicle, Steven Kapaun, 55, from Hudson, Wis., and his passenger, Ronald Kapaun, 52, also from Hudson, were both taken to CRMC with non life-threatening injuries. Alcohol was detected in Steven Kapaun’s system, the state patrol said.
