Essentia Health dietitians offer educational events during National Nutrition Month
Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s— Baxter Clinic is hosting a “Get Your Plate in Shape” workshop from 6:30 to 8 p.m., March 8 as part of National Nutrition Month. Cost of the event is $5 with a maximum of $10 per household.
“Get Your Plate in Shape” is the theme for March’s education efforts by the dietitians’ professional association, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
As part of National Nutrition Month, Essentia Health dietitians are helping people understand the federal government’s new dietary guidelines and hosting grocery store tours to teach how to read food labels and select heart-healthy foods.
Essentia Health dieticians are also offering free grocery store tours to help teach people to read food labels. The 90-minute tours are offered from 10 to 11:30 a.m., March 6 at the Pequot Lakes Super Valu and 9:30 to 11 a.m., March 30 at the Baxter Cub Foods. The tours are part of a partnership between the Brainerd Lakes Heart and Vascular Center at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center and three local grocery stores.
