A 42-year-old Buffalo man was injured Thursday after he lost control of the all-terrain vehicle he was driving. The ATV rolled over and came to rest on top of him on Rice Lake in Brainerd, reported the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department.
Michael D. Knudsen was taken by North Ambulance to Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center where he was treated and then released.
The incident was reported at 9:05 p.m. on Rice Lake near the 11000 block of Easy Street in Brainerd.
It was reported there were two passengers on the ATV with Knudsen, Nicholas Jergensen, 25, St. Paul and Alex Andrews, 24, Minneapolis, who were thrown from the ATV, but were not injured.
The sheriff’s office reported that alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The Brainerd Police Department assisted the county at the scene.
