DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Convicted auto dealer Denny Hecker has been moved to a higher-security prison in Wisconsin.
Hecker had been serving his 10-year sentence for fraud at a minimum-security federal prison in Duluth. Hecker's attorney, Brian Toder, tells the Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/zxwE5P) Hecker may not have been obeying phone rules or was perceived as a flight risk.
Hecker has been moved to a medium-security prison in Oxford, near Madison. He was once one of Minnesota's largest auto dealers. Hecker was sentenced last year for bankruptcy fraud and for defrauding auto lenders out of hundreds of millions of dollars.
